We cooked several meals in and made due with the cookware, etc but many pans, etc are on their last leg. Our cabin was clean and comfortable but things are definitely on the rustic side. We just returned from a multi-family trip to Pine Haven. Pine Haven is our #1 choice of places to stay in Estes Park from now on as we know that the cabins are clean and very cozy. We wish we had found Pine Haven a long time ago, we are eager to go back again very soon i hope. In fact i liked the juice and chocolate so much that i had to go buy some when i got back home. George gives his guests little organic chocolate bars and bottles of a great healthy juice drink when you first check in and even when we checked out, what a special treat that was. The owner George Hanson is one of the nicest and friendliest hosts i have ever met and works very hard on taking care of the property and the guests needs. We have stayed at lots of different places in Estes Park and other locations in Colorado along with places over seas but none of them have been as nice as Pine Haven. There is so many wonderful things i could say about Pine Haven but that would take a long time to mention every thing. We could hear the sound of the river from our cabin, which was very nice as i sat in the rocking chair on the porch(what a great touch the rocking chair is) we loved it. The landscaping on the grounds of Pine Haven are very well taken care of, with a lot of special touches added with lots of flowers and trees. There is a trail directly out side the cabin that follows up into the National Park, it is about a 30 minute hike to the top of the trail where the views are beautiful. It was so relaxing and the views around us was breathtaking, there was even a few wild turkeys that came to hang out right outside our cabin. We were impressed on how clean the cabin was and that it had every thing that we needed for cooking our own meals. We stayed in cabin #12 which was very cute and cozy and great for a romantic get away for just two people. We stayed at Pine Haven for three wonderful days in September for our 14th Anniversary,we wished we could have stayed longer. It doesn't matter, I can't think of anything I wouldn't want to do here. Hike all day until you are sore, and soak in the hot tub afterwards or check out a stack of good books from the library and go up there to read all weekend by yourself. Why come to the mountains if it's just like a hotel? The staff was ready to provide anything we needed, but most of what you need is already in place an environment you can build great memories around. And the trail leading up the hill out back goes for miles, taking you places that make you forget you are in a tourist town which, as far as I'm concerned, is the very best attribute of Pine Haven. There is everything you need, nothing you don't, and a few things you didn't know you needed, such as games in the cabinet.just like my uncle's cabin. Yet unlike my uncle's cabin, this one was very clean, had a DVD player, two bathrooms and hot water, not to mention a hot tub. Here the fireplace burns real wood, the kitchen is crowded and much of what you see was here in the 50's.which is perfect, as I remember spending summers at my uncle's old lake cabin in Minnesota, with its stone fireplace and hardwood floors. If you are into high-end pseudo-lodges that provide a high-dollar facsimile of a "traditional" mountain resort, then these cabins probably are not for you. Pine Haven is wonderful and I promise you will be happy with everything!! More Show lessĮstes Park has more than it's fair share of cabins and lodging options to choose from.so far we have stayed in 5 very different flavors of lodging in the area, and I believe we have found the one that is going to become a family tradition with us. So you can drive around for a while then leave and come back. My 6 and 7 year old caught trout.real trout! The cabins are 5 minutes or less from the entrance of RMNP. My 18 month old would sit on the ground and feed little chipmunks for hours. The best part are the chipmunks that come up to you for peanuts. George thought of everything.hanging flower baskets on every cabin, cedar chairs and swings everywhere you needed to sit and relax, picnic tables, fire pits for smores, rocking chairs on cabin porches, cotton candy party for the guests, ball games, on and on. The place had a playground for the kids and a playhouse equipped with dishes, stove, play vegetables, and kids books! Mr. All we had to buy was food at the Safeway which is 5 minutes from the place. My children are 6,7, and 18 months and they all had a blast! The rooms were clean with all the amenities for cooking. If you are from Texas and visit the Hill Country this place is the New Braunfels of Colorado.
